The metaverse is eyeing an ever-increasing number of companies. Some learn about the subject by entering the world of cryptos and NFTs. This is the case of the technology giant Asus. The brand launched its own NFT platform called Art Black Hole. A first step for a company that has set course for the metaverse.
“Art Black Hole”: the new NFT platform from Asus
Asus is a hard brand to avoid in the very broad electronics and technology sector. Indeed, the Taiwanese giant ranks 5th rank world of the largest IT companies. To date, the capitalization of the company is valued at 5.7 billion dollars.
The step that Asus has just taken towards NFT is therefore significant in the sector. Asus has just created a new NFT marketplace called “Art Black Hole”. NFT artists will thus be able to deposit and sell their works on the platform.
“The ASUS Metaverse NFT – Art Black Hole platform is designed to help NFT creators continuously promote their works and better connect them – and grow – with their audiences. ” Platform Art Black Hole
A spokesperson for the company claimed that the platform will accept transactions in Taiwanese dollars. Thus, “Art Black Hole” will be one of the few NFT marketplaces that accept fiat currency transactions. Recall that the purchase and sale of NFT is traditionally done in crypto, most often in Ethereum.
Crypto-assets are a risky investment.
Asus gets on the web3 train
Beyond NFTs, Asus wants more generally to enter the world of web3 and the metaverse. The metaverse designates a 3D virtual space where users can interact in an immersive way. The sector is booming and is attracting more and more big names, starting with Meta (ex-Facebook).
Asus has even created a new unit dedicated to the development of the metaverse. This new branch is called Asus Metaverse. If the name lacks originality, this measure shows the seriousness of Asus’ ambitions.
“But this is just the beginning of the ASUS Metaverse evolution. » Black Hole Art
It is therefore the Asus Metaverse branch that supports the NFT “Art Black Hole” platform. In fact, the marketplace was the first significant accomplishment planned for the unit. Indeed, Asus Metaverse has planned to follow a roadmap which currently provides for the following three steps:
- Creation of the NFT platform;
- Increase in offer and content;
- Development of the ASUS metaverse ecosystem.
To carry out its metaverse project, Asus can rely on its skills in 3 cutting-edge sectors: cloud computing, artificial intelligence (AI) and blockchain.
Admittedly, the NFT market is recent, but Asus is far from being the first major company to look into the subject. In fact, you could almost say that Asus is a little behind.
Earlier this year, another Taiwanese company took the plunge. In effect, Foxconn signed a $100 million partnership with virtual reality equipment maker XRSPACE.
But the metaverse goes way beyond tech companies. For example, in the past 3 months alone, Liverpool Football Club, Ford, Hello Kitties or even the beijing city expressed interest in the metaverse or announced concrete steps.
