Sam Bankman-Fried faces extradition to US

The metaverse specialist CEEK and the private American Draper University located in San Mateo, California have announced the creation of a “Hacker House”. Concretely, it is a program whose objective is to launch experimental projects in the metaverse.

As such, applications are open to join the “Hacker House”. The profiles sought are developers and engineers specialized in virtual reality and the development of video games. Candidates who will be selected reside on the California Private University campus.

Thus, for several weeks, their mission will be to develop several components of the Metaverse such as virtual environments related to music, art, digital real estate or games as well as interactions between future users of the metaverse through their own project.

Ultimately, the best projects that would result from the “Hacker House” program will receive cryptocurrency rewards, in NFT as well as US dollars. The highest prize to be won is valued at US$50,000.

All of the projects will not however belong to their creators (the selected candidates who will have developed the projects) since it is the CEEK company that will become the owner. The latter will then take over these projects to develop them internally.

For CEEK as for the American Draper University, the creation of this “Hacker House” is beneficial to them. For CEEK, this is a godsend since this program allows it to develop a partnership in the American academic world with all the resulting advantages (networks, contacts, funding, etc.) to develop its influence.

For Draper University, this program also allows it to draw the spotlight to its establishment.

Let’s not forget that American universities are very different from French universities in that the former operate like real businesses, while French universities are public; they therefore depend on the State to function (notably for funding).

Regarding the candidates who will participate in the “Hacker House”, beyond the financial reward, being part of this type of project opens doors. Whether it is then to work for leading companies in web2 or web3, or to develop their own business.
