Sad news – Nikolai Mushegian was known as one of the co-founders of Project MakerDAO (MKR)behind the stablecoin DAI. It was with surprise that the cryptosphere learned of its death, a few days ago in Puerto Rico. The young man died of drowning.

Even before co-founding the decentralized autonomous organization MakerDAOthe developer Nikolai Mushegian had already distinguished himself in the small world of cryptocurrencies. He had notably worked on the project Bitshares (BTS). And, he was an avid supporter from the first hour of Ethereum (ETH).
On October 28, 2022, the lifeless body of Nikolai Mushegian was found near the county beach in San Juan (capital of Puerto Rico). According to a publication by Coin Telegraph, this beach is known to be potentially dangerous, with 8 fatalities in 2021.
The 29-year-old is believed to have died from drowning, carried offshore by ocean currents. His death, however, comes right after bizarre tweets from Nikolai Mushegian. Indeed, on his Twitter account @delete_shitcointhe developer seemed to be convinced that his life was in danger.
In a rather disjointed last tweet – dating from the day of his death – the young developer speaks of a threat from the CIA American and Mossad Israeli. The detail that is chilling in the back: his last words in this tweet are “They will torture me to death”.
A very unfortunate and early death, which risks remaining shrouded in mystery and suspicion. Incidentally, during the month of October 2022, the MakerDAO project and its dollar stablecoin DAI lost their reputation for decentralization by validating the purchase of US treasury bonds by a governance vote.
