Like her predecessor Elon Musk, Twitter’s new president and CEO seems to have some interest in meme coins. Zoom on Linda Yaccarino, the new leader of the social network.
Twitter: a new CEO for the blue bird
Elon Muskcurrent owner of Twitter, officially announced last Friday his replacement as CEO. It is Linda Yaccarinothe former head of publicity at NBCUniversal, who will replace him in this position.
Ms. Yaccarino is an experienced media executive. She spent nearly 12 years at NBCUniversal and 20 years as the head of the advertising department for media group Turner Broadcasting. But what are his views on cryptocurrencies and meme coins ? For now, little is known about his vision and the future of Twitter. It is also unclear whether cryptocurrencies will play a role on the platform in the future.
Linda Yaccarino is certainly no novice when it comes to cryptocurrencies. The new CEO must already know the meme coins, which has long been a source of enthusiasm for his new employer. Ms. Yaccarino is currently following several accounts affiliated with the Dogecoin and at Shiba Inu on Twitter, including official crypto meme accounts.
I am excited to welcome Linda Yaccarino as the new CEO of Twitter!@LindaYacc will focus primarily on business operations, while I focus on product design & new technology.
Looking forward to working with Linda to transform this platform into X, the everything app. https://t.co/TiSJtTWuky

Linda Yaccarino already seems to be interested in cryptocurrencies
The new CEO already follows several leading figures of the Dogecoin community on Twitter. Among them, we find in particular the co-creator Billy Markus, DogeDesignerthe creator of MyDoge (a standalone Dogecoin wallet), and Sir Doge of the Coina Dogecoin evangelist and influencer.
Linda Yaccarino has not yet spoken publicly about the role that could play Dogecoin and other crypto on Twitter. But his presence on Twitter, very marked by a watch around Dogecoin, is certainly consistent with Musk’s liabilities. As a reminder, the businessman had defended the asset on many occasions, even if it was sometimes done with great irony.
Musk discussed the integration of crypto payments on Twitter repeatedly, especially with Dogecoin. Last month, Twitter temporarily replaced its bluebird logo with a Dogecoin meme, which boosted the token’s value by 20%.
For the moment, the positions of Linda Yaccarino remain unclear on many issues related to the future of Twitter and the possible integration of crypto payments. In the past, the executive had backed changes to the site under Musk’s leadership. Open source coding and digital transparency had been widely embraced, key principles akin to the ideologies of blockchain and Bitcoin. Last month, while interviewing Musk in front of a Miami audience at Possible, an annual conference for marketers, she said:
Transparency and openness. I would say that’s what makes the difference between the platforms you don’t use and Twitter.
