A hacker (almost) with a big heart – On October 27 shortly after 11 p.m., Team Financetoken lock platform, entity of TrustSwap was wronged by 15.8 million dollars. She was then the victim of a hack as we can see many these days. The Team Finance team then asked the hacker to return his loot in exchange for a bounty. It’s now done.

White Hat or Stone Hacker
As a reminder, these are 4 projects that have been robbed of several million dollars thanks to the exploitation of a flaw in the migration between Uniswap V2 and V3. Among the stolen cryptocurrencies, we then found USDC, CAW, CUT, FEG et KNDA. Some tokens still very young in the ecosystem could not survive the hack, this is the case of the CAW.
However, a turnaround. On October 30, the Team Finance hacker announced that she was returning $7 million and keep 10%. Our pirate, who considers himself a white hat (expression which is said of a hacker who returns the fruit of his hacks) has therefore returned to the various injured projects:
- 209 ethers to the NFT Kondux platform;
- 548 ETH for Feg Token;
- Tsuka got him back 765 000 $ en DAI et 11,8 millions de TSUKA;
- Caw Coin, the most flayed, received 5 million dollars in DAI and 74.6 billion native CAW tokens.
While the protocol Team Finance claimed to have more than $3 billion secured across 12 blockchains, this hacker’s attack is reminiscent of the fragility of the DeFi ecosystem still embryonic. Indeed, this hack closely follows that of Mango Markets. It also took place in October. This hack is the very illustration that a hacker who puts his heart into his work can empty the treasury of a protocol and then partially restore it.
